Weekend in Valencia: encounters that change the journey

It was a heavy period, and I needed a light break. I chose Valencia almost on impulse, but I didn’t want to travel alone. I found Compagni di Viaggi and saw a simple post: “Looking for someone to explore the city with, no rush, aperitifs and laughter.” I replied.

We met at the hostel: me, Giulia, and Sami. None of us knew each other, but from the very first walk through the city center we were on the same wavelength: discovering without rushing, savoring, talking.

We wandered around the Central Market tasting random tapas, rented bikes to reach the Ciutat de les Arts, took ridiculous photos at Malvarrosa Beach. Every evening ended with us sharing pieces of our lives over a glass of tinto de verano.

That weekend wasn’t “just” a trip:
it was a reminder that sometimes all it takes is one small step outside your comfort zone to meet people who reflect something true in you.
