Iceland On The Road: from strangers to family

Iceland was my dream for years. Huge waterfalls, glaciers, volcanoes, endless skies. But the costs alone were prohibitive, and the idea of driving for hours without company did not convince me. So I published Journey Buddies My proposal for a van route.

Within a few days Sara, a photographer who chased aurore, and Marco, passionate about trekking, added. We found ourselves at the airport in Reykjavik, a little bit frosted, but already after the first night spent camping under a sky full of stars, we were “the team”.

We cooked together in the middle of lunar landscapes, slept wrapped in sleeping bags, ran under a cold waterfall laughing like children.
And the first night when the aurora illuminated the sky… we put ourselves in circles, in silence, each lost in his own thoughts, but deeply together.
